Foz Côa, Douro, Portugal 03 2019

Taken in a visit to Vale do Côa, in the mountains of northeastern Portugal, a region of extensive olive groves and vines.

In the early spring the region blooms with almond trees bloom and in autumn  the vines are covered with fiery leaves.

A tributary flows into the Douro River whose name has become universal. Over milleniums, the shale rocks that delimit the Côa river bed have been converted into art panels, with thousands of prints left by the creative impulse of our ancestors.
